Home scents

Filling your home with a lovely fragrance lifts your mood and gives it a special comforting feel, especially on a cold February night or rainy Sunday.

Here are some of my favourites.

Culti Milano, Thé reed fragrance difuser, £56, Selfridges
Paying homage to the ancient tea ceremony, this gorgeous melange of bergamot and Japanese green Sencha tea laced with guaiac wood is sensual and warming. Comes in a lovely brown-tinted bottle. Well, it is an Italian company so you expect the bottle to be stylish.

Carthusa Mediterraneo home fragrance diffuser £90, Selfridges
Bursting with natural ingredients from its home on the Isle of Capri, this stunning scent, like all the fragrances from this house, is made by hand. Citrus, wood and floral notes with a smattering of herbs waft through the air bringing this beautiful Italian island to your home.

Urban Apothecary Cherry Blossom Candle, £30
Made in England, these candles have been handcrafted using natural soy wax and cotton wick. This fruity-floral number spiced with white musk fills your room with the scent of spring.

L’Occitane Clos de Verveine Home Perfume, £22, uk.loccitane.com
A quick squirt of this fresh lemony fragrance and you can almost image a summer’s night in Provence. Gets rid of any stale air. Instantly uplifting.
